On March 9, Athena Fightwear unveils Ryoko, a new collection inspired by the quiet power of duality.

At Athena, we’ve always believed that fightwear for women should reflect the full spectrum of who we are. Strength and softness. Precision and chaos. Power and grace. Ryoko explores that balance and the harmony that exists within it.

The visual inspiration began with The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai, one of the most iconic depictions of the ocean ever created. A wave frozen in motion: beautiful, delicate, and yet overwhelmingly powerful. From there, the story expanded into the way duality is present in women's combat sports. The result is a collection rooted in the idea that women, like the ocean, carry two forces at once. It can be both calm and gentle, and terrifyingly powerful.

 The Collection Ryoko introduces a focused lineup of essentials designed for female strikers:

• Muay Thai centric graphic T-shirt 
• Three colours of women’s Muay Thai shorts
• Two colours of 4.5m handwraps

As always, Athena’s Muay Thai shorts are engineered specifically for the female body. Each pair includes built-in safety shorts designed to prevent camel toe, along with discreet pockets — details that have become signature elements of the brand since day one. 

For Athena Fightwear, femininity has never been something to dilute in combat sports - instead, it is something to amplify. Ryoko continues the brand’s philosophy: that pride in femininity does not negate our physical and mental skill and strength.
